Lancashire County Council is to close buildings in Trawden this month, as part of its plans to reduce the number of facilities it operates.
The closures are part of the county council’s property proposals which will save millions of pounds as it looks to save £262m by 2020/21.
Trawden Library will close on November 18th at 5pm and the nearest libraries will be in Colne and Nelson.
The Riverside children’s centre will close on the same day at 12-30pm and the nearest children’s centre will then be Colne.
The latest closures are part of plans to reduce the number of buildings the council owns and rents, and form a network of multi-functional buildings known as neighbourhood centres, which will provide a base for a range of different services in one place.
