Children and parents at a Barnoldswick nursery have taken part in their very own mini-Olympic Games.

Gisburn Road Children’s Centre was the venue for the games where a variety of competitions took place across several sporting fields.

Events including the 3,000mm crawl were held for tiny tots, there was a tunnel race for youngsters and parents even got involved with races such as the egg and spoon and a horse race.

A medal ceremony was later held and everybody who took part went home with a certificate.

Gaynor Mason, a staff member, said: “The feedback we had from parents was extremely positive, they absolutely loved it. It was really good fun.”

The children’s centre has changed the weekly Saturday morning ‘Men Behaving Dadly’ session to a new ‘Start Right Saturday’ which is now open to all members of the family.

It is aimed at working parents who may not get as much time to play with their child during the week and sessions run from 10am until 12 noon.
