CHRISTMAS came early for little Ephraim Ashworth this year.
The five-year-old Trawden Forest Primary School pupil was the proud winner of Pendle Sports Development Team’s “Design a Christmas Card” competition which saw more than 500 entrants from local primary school children.
And with the accolade also came a framed copy of his festive design as well as a pass which allows him free entry to all of Pendle Leisure Centre’s facilities for the next 10 weeks.
The Year 1 pupil designed a first class card that showed a plump looking robin wishing its recipients a “Happy Christmas”.
It is the first time the Sports Development Team have run the competition and they were astonished at the amount of entries they received.
Ephraim’s robin design was then made into a card and sent to the printers before it was sent out by the Sports Development Team staff.
Sports Development manager Joe Cooney said: “We were overwhelmed with the number of entries it was a tough choice but Ephraim design made everyone smile.”
