Government education chief visits Nelson school

The Government’s Secretary of State for Education, Mrs Nicky Morgan MP, has made a visit to Whitefield Infant School and Nursery, Nelson.

She had lots of chats with both the pupils and their teachers and was joined by Pendle MP Andrew Stephenson there.

She made it clear she was impressed with the school and was given lots of information and even some entertainment.

The school’s new location in Every Street was officially opened last year and it has been named one of the best schools in the country.

Mr Stephenson said: “I’m delighted the Secretary of State visited the outstanding Whitefield Infants. She was really very impressed with everything she saw!”
