Pupils at Salterforth Primary School can enjoy an adventure at each break time with the opening of a new trim trail.
Children can challenge themselves over a series of wooden framed obstacles which become progressively more difficult and test a variety of skills.
The completion of the £12,000 project comes just in time for the summer term and proud pupils have been outside getting to grips with the equipment over the last week.
The children were involved in every stage of development and design along the way, and spent three years fund-raising together with the school’s PTA for the trail to become a reality.
Headteacher Helena Dunsdon is delighted with the result. She said: “The PTA have done really well fund-raising and the children have worked hard. They are now reaping the benefits of that effort.
“We’ve just had the grand opening and we’re also inviting last year’s Year 6 who are now in Year 7 to come back for pizza and play.”
