Fund-raising Colne children have presented hundreds of pounds to Pendleside Hospice during their harvest festival assembly.

Dressed in Autumn colours, the Park Primary School youngsters handed over £420 to the charity following a week of driving up funds.

They were also given a talk by fund-raiser Sammi Bracewell about the importance of the hospice.

Sammi said: “The children had a non-uniform day and had been selling merchandise all week to raise the £420.

“I think it is absolutely brilliant what they have been doing. The school has supported us in the past, and it is good to see children fund-raising and getting involved within the local community. They have done really well raising that amount of money.”
