A coroner has concluded that the death of a 37-year-old Nelson woman was the result of an accidental overdose.

Faiza Arif (37), of Victoria Gardens, Nelson, was found dead at her home on March 18th this year.

A post mortem carried out by pathologist Richard Prescott found the cause of death to be drug toxicity.

Traces of four separate drugs were found in her blood, none at a level to prove fatal individually but when combined could cause heart failure, he said in a report read to the Burnley inquest.

Miss Arif’s sister, Aisha, said in another read report that the former Towneley High School pupil was a “funny, generous and warm” sister who had suffered a spinal stroke in 2010.

She said Faiza had been erratic in taking her medication and often complained of upper limb pains. She had missed many hospital appointments but had never given any indication she would harm herself.

East Lancashire Coroner Richard Taylor reached the conclusion of accidental death.
