The new Toyota Aygo has been put up for grabs in this year’s Pendleside Hospice car raffle draw.

The star prize, which comes with satellite navigation system, was unveiled at the launch of the annual draw at Burnley’s Charter Walk Shopping Centre which raised £27,000 last year.

The winner of the prize has the choice of taking the car or the cash alternative of £8,000.

Hospice fundraising manager Kaye Bartle said: “It seems too good to be true but one lucky supporter really will win a car for just £1 or the cash alternative of £8,000.

“This year’s car is really stylish and as it’s very economical to run is the perfect car to zip about in.

“The style features and added extras make it a dream to drive. Thanks to the car sponsors all the money raised from our annual car raffle is going towards helping people in our local community.”

The car has been supplied by Blackburn based Hippo Motor Group and purchased thanks to the support from Charter Walk Shopping Centre, Alderson and Horan Funeral Services, Burnley and Pendle Freemasons, John Macadam Garages and Santa’s Pizza.

Mrs Bartle added: “Their support means that every pound raised from ticket sales goes directly towards caring for people in Burnley and Pendle diagnosed with cancer or other life limiting illnesses and who are under the care of the hospice.”

Volunteers from Pendleside Hospice will be out and about in the community throughout the summer months selling tickets and tickets will also be available in all eight hospice shops in the area, from hospice reception, any of the car sponsors or online at www.pendleside.org.uk.

You can also purchase tickets or even help the hospice selling tickets to friends and neighbours by contacting 01282 440120 before the draw is announced on September 20th. Last year’s car raffle raised more than £27,000 of much needed funds for the hospice and organisers are keen to raise even more this year before the draw takes place on Saturday 20th September.
