Folk in Earby have no excuses to not carry out a New Year’s resolution to get fit as a new gym has opened on their doorstep.

Earby Fitness Mill, which is located in Boot Street Mill, has been officially opened by the Mayor of Pendle Coun. Smith Benson.

The gym area which includes cardio machines and free weights is finished with the aerobic room. Toning tables and the remainder of the building to be finished by February.

The new gym is the brainchild of a Burnley group which includes finance from retired Alan Garner, who spent 30 years in the leisure industry, and fancied a retirement project.

Alan said: “Earby didn’t have a gym and the local community here said its what Earby needed.

“Hopefully we can make a success of it and the work will be worth it. We will see.”

There is a website under construction but for more information on membership, visit the Earby Fitness Mill Facebook page or pop into Unit 10 in Boot Street, Earby, BB18 6UX.
