A staggering 26,000 tickets were sold for the 2015 Pendleside Hospice annual car raffle.

And the winning ticket was drawn by Clarets mascot Bertie Bee in Burnley town centre on Saturday.

The owner of the winning ticket was Jean Kite of Colne who has the choice of driving away with the first prize of a superb 15 plate Mini One in Volcanic Orange or £8,000 cash.

Representatives of this year’s sponsors Alderson and Horan, Charter Walk, Burnley and Pendle Freemasons, Lloyds Mini, Fuel Card Service’s and Macadams joined Bertie and hospice fund-raisers at the draw.

Pendleside Hospice provides care, free of charge, to around 1,000 local people each year, but relies on the support of the community as it needs to raise more than £2.8m. towards annual running costs of over £3.8m.
