Spiritual healers from Pendle have presented generous donations to two local charities.

Pendle Healing and Spiritual Centre was launched earlier in the year, to offer gentle, holistic and non-invasive spiritual healing on a one-to-one basis.

Services are offered for free by fully trained and fully insured healers at Primet Hill Community Centre, in Colne, on alternate Wednesday evenings. The drop-in sessions run between 7pm and 9pm.

To cover hall hire, it is asked that a small donation is made to the registered charity, and any remaining funds are donated to Pendle charities.

Already, healers, who work under the umbrella of the Corinthian Church and the Healing Association, have been able to hand £50 cheques over to the Little LAMB Appeal (Louie’s Amazing Meningitis Battle) and to Colne’s Open Door Centre.

A further £50 is set to be given to Pendle Dogs In Need. There are around 10 healers in total, with some coming from New Dawn Healing Centre, in Buckshaw Village, Chorley.

Sue Bryant-Lauder, one of the spiritual healers, said: “When we set up the centre our aim was to offer a facility that is affordable and accessible to all.

“We have a little box, and when people come in we say to people that the healing is free, but there is an option of making a donation.

“We started with nothing, no funds - we just had faith. Now, on average, we have about 12 people coming to the drop-in centre each time. We don’t do the healing ourselves. We are an instrument for the healing.”

And another healer Paul Hunting, whose parents were both healers, added: “We offer spiritual healing, and we can do services as well.

“We have had some nice feedback so far.”

Both and Sue and Paul would like to emphasise that their services are not an alternative to medical treatment.

The sessions, which include free tea and biscuits, are for anybody that feels they would like to experience spiritual healing.
