Barnoldswick has BIG ideas about celebrating the Royal Wedding this month, with residents being invited to help bake a giant cake to celebrate the event.
Organisers hope the cake will even be in the running to break some records, as well as raising money for charity.
Barnoldswick Town Council chairman Coun. David Stead said: “We wanted to do something different to mark the occasion. We hope to create a giant Royal Wedding cake. If enough people join in we may even set a world record!
“The cake will be made up of individual squares which anyone can bake, and decorated with red, white and blue icing. On April 23rd the cakes will be brought together. I hope lots of people and organisations will take part.”
Baking tins and a recipe are available from the town council at the Rainhall Centre. When the cake is completed, it will be served in small portions with proceeds going to Help for Heroes.
