Five fire engines and an aerial ladder platform crew were called to the former Railway Hotel in Clitheroe Road at 6-35pm yesterday.

The first floor of the building was well alight on arrival and crews had to use three main water jets and the ALP to fight the blaze.

There were no casualties and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
