A Nelson filmmaker who scooped three awards at the National British Asian Wedding Awards - including being named the UK’s best wedding videography company - has said his success is "like winning an Oscar."

As well as being named the UK’s best wedding videography company, Amor Media Productions also took home awards for Best Wedding Videography Company in the North and Videographer of the Year at the event in London on Monday, March 6th.

Established in 2009, Amor has blossomed into the UK's premier wedding videography company after founder Mujahaid Bin Jamshaid (31) quit his job in investment banking in 2009 to pursue his filmmaking aspirations.

“It was a dream come true,” said Mujahaid, who started Amor Media Production with the help of a £2,000 Pendle Business Support Grant. “We always knew that the quality of our work was very creative and unique, appreciated by people around the world.

"We have had the privilege of covering some of the UK’s finest events and have travelled to amazing destinations around the world," he added. "It’s like winning an Oscar!

Mujahaid, who has a first in economics from the University of Manchester, said: "I feel truly blessed and honoured to have our work recognised on a national and international stage. There are some amazing companies in the industry but two bring home both awards is a remarkable achievement and a proud moment for Pendle.

"I do not believe in luck or chance, but in hard work and perseverance: doing what is right for the customer, contributing to the industry, inspiring others, and always setting the highest standards and quality. Settling for nothing but the best.

"When my company name was called out, it was one of the most amazing and proud moments in my life," Mujahaid said.

With offices in London, Manchester, Dubai, and Nelson, Amor is also nominated for Filmmaker of the Year at the Asian Wedding Experience Awards in Manchester on March 27th, with bigger and better things surely to come.

"There are exciting times ahead for us," Mujahaid said. "We're looking to rebrand and expand into areas which we have already had some big wins, such as TV commercials, video marketing and brand story films."

Expansion is also on the cards, with the man of the hour adding: “We’re launching our new Sister Company, Amor Digital - a digital marketing and ad agency that works with brands to help grow their social media presence, complimenting this with video marketing solutions."

But in the meantime, Mujahaid is focusing on enjoying the fruits of his labour.

“It’s been a long journey with many ups and downs but to know that you finally made it [is] something that I dreamt of when I began my journey,” Mujahaid finished.
