A young student, Jessica Boult (10) of Barrowford Primary School, has handing over £101 she raised for the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal.

Jessica presented it to Mrs Christine Sutcliff, who is the Poppy Appeal organiser for the Nelson and District Branch of the RBL.

And Mrs Sutcliff’s husband Michael, who is the branch’s Welfare Officer, said: “Mrs Sutcliff told Jessica that was a remarkable achievement for a young girl – a job well done – and she has been invited to play a part at the 2016 Armed Forces Day celebrations.”

The branch members are delighted with what Jessica had come up with for the Poppy Appeal.
