labour Party leader Ed Miliband was in Pendle on Friday as part of a visit to the North-West.
Mr Miliband visited leading telecommunications company Daisy, where he was given a tour of the Lomeshaye-based business before facing a question and answer session with East Lancashire business leaders on a wide range of issues.
He said he had been very impressed by what he had seen at Daisy, describing the company as “fantastic” and the workforce as “terrific”, and said more needed to be done in the area to mirror its success.
“Unless we get people spending and take action to get young unemployed people back into work, we’re not actually going to get the growth we need to help manufacturing,” said Mr Miliband.
After his visit to Nelson, Mr Miliband went on to a school in Chorley and the Labour Party’s North-West conference in Blackpool.
