Cycling champion Steven Burke and hero ex-soldier Gregg Stevenson were among hundreds in attendance at a special fund-raising event in Colne.
Held at the British Legion Club, in Keighley Road, the event for Help for Heroes and the Poppy Appeal was organised by Coun. Neil Butterworth.
The afternoon, which included a raffle and an auction, raised an impressive £945, and also saw many local performers providing entertainment.
Former soldier Coun. Butterworth said: “It was a really really good afternoon - we had a lot of local singers and a reggae band.
“The British Legion Club was a perfect venue, and it was packed.
“We turned the little room at the back into a crèche for the kids, so the mums and dads were all at ease as well.”
