Burnley dad (38) dies days after returning from honeymoon

A YOUNG family has been left devastated after a popular dad suffered a fatal heart attack just a day after returning from his honeymoon.

Mr Lee Brown (38) died days later in the Royal Blackburn Hospital when his heartbroken new wife Fiona, father Arthur and brother Keiron made the traumatic decision to turn off his life support machine.

The devoted couple, who were married at St Andrew's Church, Duke Bar, on July 30th, had enjoyed a dream honeymoon to Turkey. Lee was walking to work at The Factory outlet shop in Rossendale Road when he collapsed with a massive heart attack.

Heartbroken Fiona and Keiron told the Express their lives will never be the same. "Lee and I had been together for 13 years and were looking forward to married life together. We have a 12-year-old daughter Dana who Lee doted on. Life can be so cruel. It hasn't sunk in yet that Lee has gone," said Fiona (32).

The couple had only been back in Burnley a short time after returning from Northern Ireland, where they had lived since 2002 when Lee moved to work as an engineer. He had previously worked for Michelin.

A former pupil of Heasandford Primary and Habergham High Schools, Lee was a talented snooker player who had won several trophies and was also a keen follower of the Clarets.

His brother Keiron said: "Lee was just a normal guy. He was funny, generous and genuine. We all feel cheated as 38 is no age. We had a lot to look forward to."

Fiona added Lee was on medication for an irregular heart beat but they thought this was under control. He also leaves stepmum Belinda, parents-in-law Peter and Helen, and many other relatives.

His funeral is today when a service will be held at Burnley Crematorium at 2-20 p.m.
