A DOG is believed to have caused a minor accident on the M65 this morning.

Slight delays have been caused between Junction 12 and Junction 13 on the motorway, after two vehicles were involved in a small collision at approximately 8-50am.

Debris from the accident is currently on the road, but police have confirmed that traffic is able to move around it.

It is unclear as to how the dog got onto the motorway, and how exactly the accident was caused.
