NELSON’S KBR Jujitsu Club is very proud to announce it has had its first Yellow Belt Grading.

The KBR is based at The Zone, the recently built youth facility at The Hub, in Leeds Road, Nelson.

Spokesman Vincent Masih said: “Wow! What a fantastic day we had for our 1st Yellow Belts Grading! All the students did extremely well – a big thank you to all the parents for bringing their kids down on the day and a special thank you to all the Sensei that helped out.

“It really is a credit to Sensei Bernard Variyam, who started this club only four months ago to have 17 students pass their Yellow Belt Grading. Special thanks go out to Sensei Paul Gotthardt, Sensei Wayne Mason, Sensei Stewart Holmes, Sensei Steven Smith, Chris Lawrence, Ady Lamb, Andrea Mason and, of course, the legend that is Mick O’Connor.

“Sensei Bernard sadly couldn’t make it to the grading on the day as he was suffering from an extreme case of flu.”

And Bernard said: “It really gives me great pleasure to have so many students going for their first belt in Jujitsu after just four months of us going as a club. This is what it’s all about, seeing the children achieve great things, it truly is an honour to teach them”

Mr Masih, press manager for the club, added: “I have five children of my own that train at the club and it is a great joy to see them progress with the knowledge that is shared out by all the Sensei, having so many Black Belts under the KBR Jujitsu Banner means that the children never stop learning at the club.

“I wish to give my thanks to all the Sensei that help make this happen. Well done everybody that passed on the day – rest assured it’s onwards and upwards from here!”

KBR Jujitsu are based at The Zone, Leeds Road, Nelson. They are open on Saturdays from 11am to 1pm and 11am to noon kids train free! Adults classes are from noon to 1pm. Call Mr Masih on 07515 928288 or email kbrjujitsu@hotmail.co.uk
