Former Burnley boss John Bond passes away

FORMER Burnley boss John Bond has died, aged 79.

Bond took over from caretaker boss Frank Casper in June 1983, with the Clarets having been just relegated to Division Three. He was one of the biggest names in the game at the time, a media magnet, but his reign came to an end in August 1984 as Burnley finished 12th.
