Four arrests in Bradford after Burnley and Pendle burglaries

POLICE investigating a spate of burglaries in Pendle and Burnley have arrested four people following a series of raids in Bradford.

Officers from Lancashire Constabulary and West Yorkshire Police raided four addresses in the city around 8 a.m. on Friday and arrested four men aged 17, 18, 25 and 32 on suspicion of conspiracy to commit burglary.

The action comes as part of an investigation into a series of burglaries alleged to have occurred in Brierfield, Nelson, Burnley, Blackburn and Accrington between September, 2011 and March, 2012.

Det. Insp. Ian Whitehead, from Lancashire Constabulary, said: “Burglary is an intrusive crime which can have a devastating impact on victims.

“I hope this action sends out a reassuring message that we are committed to reducing burglary and will take strong action to tackle it.

“As always, we would ask residents to help us keep crime low by ensuring doors and windows are locked and they don’t leave any valuable items on display to prove temptation to passing thieves.”

Anyone with information about burglary, or who sees anything suspicious, can contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
