Hospice to open Earby shop

EARBY has been chosen as the site for the latest Pendleside Hospice charity shop.

The Reedley based charity already has four shops in Pendle in Barnoldswick, Brierfield, Colne and Nelson and the latest store will be located on Victoria Road in Earby.

Each shop sells a range of good quality clothing and household items and can also accept foreign coins, stamp collections and mobile phones.

An approach was made to the hospice by local lady Sharon Andrews who, after retiring, decided she had some time available to help Pendleside. She and her friends will be helping her to run the shop.

The shop welcomes donations of clothing, shoes, handbags, towels, linens, curtains, toiletries, perfumes, cuddly toys, bedding, jewellery, books and pictures.

All eight of the Pendleside Hospice shops are run entirely by volunteers, meaning that more of the money paid for goods goes directly towards patient care.

In fact £7.50 out of every £10 taken in the Pendleside Hospice shops goes to where it’s needed most. The remaining £2.50 covers the cost of rent, utilities, a shop vehicle and various sundry expenses which means that you can donate with confidence.

The shop will be open for business all week from Monday, October 22nd but the official opening will take place on Saturday, October 27th at 11am when Pendle MP Andrew Stephenson will be cutting the ribbon and declaring the shop open.

Refreshments will be available for shoppers throughout the morning.
