PHOTOS: Snowfall in Pendle

Waiting for Video...

CHRISTMAS may well be over, but Pendle residents have finally been able to start walking in a winter wonderland.

Residents woke up to a blanket of snow this morning, after sub-zero temperatures hit East Lancashire through the night.

Gritters have been out in force, and motorists have been urged to remain aware of driving conditions by the Met Office.

The weather has also been causing disturbance in the area, with Laneshaw Bridge Primary School, in Emmott Lane, being forced to close its doors for the day, as well as Colne Newtown Nursery.

It has been suggested that the adverse weather conditions may last until the weekend.
