POLICE are appealing for information after a man had his phone stolen from him in Nelson at the weekend.

At around 10 p.m. on Saturday night, the victim, who is in his 60s, was stood in Albert Street talking on his phone when he was approached by three men who pushed him and snatched his phone out of his hand before running from the scene.

DC Richard Blackburn said; “I would appeal to anyone who may have been in the area around the time to come forward if they saw what happened.

“Unfortunately, we do not have any clear descriptions of the offenders at this stage but I would ask anyone who may have been out and about in the area around that time to come forward if they think they saw anything suspicious.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police using the new non-emergency number 101 quoting log number LC-20120505-1843.
