VOTE now in this week’s poll in which we delve into the controversial issue of the unemployed working for free to gain experience and hopefully land a job.

Tesco hit the headlines and sparked protest with the news it was not paying wages to those without jobs who had been drafted into its workforce for experience under the ‘workfare’ scheme, before announcing a U-turn.

Should those without jobs embrace the chance to gain experience in the workplace to enhance their employability or is it an abuse by employers looking for cheap labour?
