Turbine plans for discussion

editorial image

SEPERATE planning applications for two 45m tall wind turbines at neighbouring Colne farms are set to go before councillors tomorrow night.

Pendle Council planning officer Kathryn Hughes is recommending members of the Colne and District Committee to refuse permission for both turbines, one of them at Flass Bent Farm and the other at nearby Knarr Side Farm, both off Skipton Old Road.

Mrs Hughes will present lengthy reports on each application to the committee, both of which end with a recommendation to refuse planning permission.

In both, she says the applicant has failed to demonstrate that the proposed development would not have an adverse impact on the ameniities of neighbouring properties in terms of noise nuisance.
