Police and paramedics were called to the scene of a collision at the junction of North Street and New Scotland Road in Nelson on Tuesday afternoon.

The incident involving a black Vauxhall Corsa and Prince’s Trust minibus belonging to the fire service occurred at around 4-30 p.m. and a section of New Scotland Road was closed in one direction for around 30 minutes.

The 61-year-old male driver of the Vauxhall and 53-year-old female driver of the minibus were both treated at the scene by paramedics for bruising.

PC Derek Scott, from the Road Policing team based in Colne, said that the damage to the front of the Vauxhall was “quite extensive” and would likely be a write-off.
