VIDEO: “Tax Bankers not Bakers” protesters appeal

Waiting for Video...

PROTESTERS against the proposed “Pasty Tax” donned masks of Chancellor George Osborne in defiance of the government’s proposed VAT hike.

The members of the TUC union joined bakery bosses in Burnley to highlight what they see as the “unfair” 20% VAT hike on hot foods proposed by the government.

Dubbed the “Pasty Tax” bosses at Greggs, the Pound Bakery and Burnley’s own family company Oddie’s believe the extra charge would hit their trade badly.

Our video captured the protesters and the views of customers and traders in Burnley town centre. See Friday’s Burnley Express for more coverage on the protest.
