PENDLE school Marsden Heights Community College has raised a grand total of £1,258.92 for Children In Need.

Events in November included a non-uniform session, a lunchtime disco, lunchtime film presentation and a balloon release - all ideas were put forward by students from Years 7 and 11.

Students contributed £1 per balloon and each one had a return tag. The furthest distance reached was 100 miles in County Durham and both the student and member of the public who found the balloon in her garden received a gift voucher to the value of £25.

College manager Mrs Janet Green said: “There was great support by all in our learningcommunity for this very worthwhile cause.”
