Police probe school lap-top theft
A NUMBER of laptop computers were stolen from West Craven High Technology College as thieves targeted the Barnoldswick school.
The break-in took place overnight Thursday/Friday, the offenders removing the putty from windows at the rear of the building before using a stone slab to smash the window.
Once inside they removed a safe containing a number of laptop computers.
The safe and a number of the laptops were later recovered nearby and forensic inquiries are currently ongoing.
This was the third time this summer that the school had been targeted and a meeting is to take place between representatives of the school, the local education authority and the police to discuss ways of improving security there.
Police asked anyone who thinks they may have spotted the offenders in the area to contact them on 425001.
