Sex attack probe at Wycoller Country Park

POLICE are investigating a sexual offence which is believed to have occurred in the idyllic rural Wycoller Country Park on Thursday night last week.

A 15-year-old girl and an 18-year-old woman are said to have been driven to the location by two men known to them who committed sexual offences.

Operation Freedom officers are providing reassurance and support to the two victims.

DC Charlie Haynes, from Nelson CID, said: "Police are making inquiries to trace two Asian heritage men from the Nelson area in connection with this incident.

"Vehicles and individuals who are using this area to pursue sexually-related activities will also be targeted with a view to prevent similar offences taking place."

Operation Freedom can be contacted on 01706 237397.
