A four-year-old girl who suffered a bad injury was airlifted to hospital for treatment by a North West Air Ambulance.

It happened on Friday evening at 6-30pm in Oak Street, Colne. A police spokesman said: “A four-year-old girl was in collision with a car – a Citroen Saxo. She had a nasty broken leg and was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital by the air ambulance.”

The driver stopped at the location while she was dealt with. The air ambulance had landed on the King George Playing Field next to the scene, and lots of people saw the victim being carried to the helicopter then flown away for vital treatment.
