Brownies lend a hand at HAPPA

Trawden Brownies stuck to their motto and 'lent a hand' by helping out at the HAPPA charity.

The Brownies filled more than 1,000 envelopes containing the magazine and accounts to be sent out to every HAPPA member and supporter.

Overseen by Julie Rickwood-Gan, Happa’s development officer, 15 Brownies, one young leader and two leaders all formed a perfect production line to undertake the task.

Louise Bleasdale, Snowy Owl, said: “They were like a well oiled wheel by the end. We are so proud of the girls for carrying out this community work to help a busy and important local charity, and especially on a Sunday which is not our usual meeting day.

“After a lovely fuel stop for refreshments provided by the excellent catering staff in The Scullery cafe, Julie then kindly gave the girls a tour of the facilities and a chance to meet some of the resident horses and hear their rescue stories. The girls had a fun and informative day out while gaining valuable skills for the future such as team work and delegation.”
