Parish and town councils in Pendle will have their grants from Pendle Council cut by 15% next year.
Members of Pendle’s Executive agreed to the cuts at their December meeting, which follow on from a 10% reduction for the current financial year.
The amount paid out will reduce from £101, 301 to £86,031.
Coun. Tony Greaves said: “I think it is fair that as a council facing a catastrophic and calamitous financial situation that the parishes have to bear their share.
“We have had constructive meetings with the councils and they are beginning to realise that the world is changing.”
