Dozens dash in successful Barlick Santa fun run

Waiting for Video...

Three hundred Father Christmases of all ages enjoyed a festive fun run on Sunday morning by taking part in a 5km Santa Dash around Barnoldswick.

The fun run was organised by the Bosom Friends charity group and the first man home was Andrew Carson, the first woman across the line was Linda Bostock and the first child to finish was Sam Benson.

Starting out at the West Craven Sports Centre in Kelbrook Road, the route weaved its way through the town finishing in the Town Square where a special Sunday Christmas market was being held and seasonal entertainment was provided by a variety of musicians.

Organisers are delighted with the success of the event, and it is anticipated it will have generated thousands of pounds, although an exact figure is not yet known.
