Corporate Challenge, which is sponsored by Charter Walk Shopping Centre, sees participating businesses given an initial start-up fund of £50 and tasked with increasing this to as much as they can within a four-month window.

So far 25 have signed up to take part but there is still time for businesses to sign up to take on the challenge to become Corporate Challenge Champion 2016.

The Challenge runs from June 1st until September 30th. In October an awards ceremony will take place to crown the Corporate Challenge Champion of 2016 as well as presenting many other prizes such as Most Raised by an Individual and Most Innovative Fundraising Idea.

The companies signed up so far are Protec, Buoyant Upholstery, Boohoo, Burnley Council (Liberata), Petty Estate Agents, Tesco (Burnley), Azzurri, Marsden Building Society, Padiham Glass, Slimming World, Clearly Interiors, Toms Stationers, Handelsbanken, +24 Marketing, Wellness Catalyst, Hays Recruitment, Haslingden District Nursing Team, West Craven Insurance Services, PM and M Accountants, Smart Price Home Store, Kirk Environmental, Red Rose Car Sales, Themis, BNI Kudos (Burnley) and Cottages UK.

Already the companies have some great ideas planned to raise funds which include car washes, sponge throws, bake sales, balloon releases and many more and will be encouraged throughout the four-month challenge by an online leader board to see how their fund-raising is doing compared to their competitors.

Hospice Fundraising Manager, Mrs Kaye Bartle said: “We are really excited about Corporate Challenge and are delighted that so many prominent local businesses and local organisations have committed to raising funds for Pendleside over the summer.
