Hospice marathon team raise £13,000

Eight runners raised £12,910 for Pendleside Hospice by taking part in the 2016 London Marathon.

The hospice’s five gold bond places went to Lisa Carroll-Goles (London), Gary Ingham (Burnley), John Banister (Barrowford), Lisa Marie Naylor (Padiham) and David Clegg (Colne).

Three others ran for the hospice and they were Nicola Stott (Burnley), Karen Holland (Burnley) and Helen Bentley (Haslingden).

Hospice fund-raiser Sammi Bracewell said: “The London Marathon is known worldwide to be one of the best events in the running calendar and we are so lucky to have guaranteed places.

“We are even luckier to have fabulous fund-raisers taking part who put in a lot of hard work in their training and fund-raising to raise an outstanding amount. We can’t thank them enough for their support.”
