Three people were taken to hospital last night following a two-car collision in Colne.

The male driver of a Nissan Altima had to be cut free from his car by firefighters after the vehicle overturned in Skipton Old Road. He was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital with suspected back and neck injuries after receiving initial treatment at the scene by paramedics.

The female driver and baby passenger in a Volkswagen Polo also went to hospital for treatment to minor injuries.

The accident occurred at 6-08pm and the road was closed for almost three hours while investigation work was completed.
