People were queuing at the door waiting for the opening of Pendle MP Andrew Stephenson’s third annual Jobs and Opportunities Fair this morning.

Twenty-two organisations were present at the fair held at The Muni in Colne and it was anticipated that numbers through the doors would top the 1,200 at 2013’s event.

A range of companies from Pendle and Burnley were offering employment while advice was also available on apprenticeships, gaining job experience and interview technique to get people over that final hurdle.

As well as those who were unemployed and looking for work, there were people working part-time wanting more and school children from some of Pendle’s secondary schools who were invited along to see the array of opportunities employers offer. The Mayor of Pendle Coun. Smith Benson even dropped in for a nosy too.
