BARROWFORD is all set for its popular annual show this coming Sunday – with the hope that thousands of people will go along there.
If not, the show could be at risk for next year because of economic problems.
The big event begins at 10am, with plenty of attractions throughout the day until 5pm.
Barrowford Show is centred in the village park.
The main attractions this year include Vander Brothers, a highly-dramatic aerial acrobatic act, Tricks 4 Treats, which is a dog show, Accrington Pipe Band and a martial arts demo team.
The Burnley FC Cheerleaders will be there, plus Vale Royal.
There is also the Bonny Baby competition, the winner revealed on the day, as well as the usual horticultural section, pet section, children’s events and, of course, the classic car show and a variety of stalls plus bungee jumps, face painting, pets corner, mini motorbikes and lots of delicious things to eat.
Event joint organiser Marina Parente said: “We are hoping for a good turn-out this year, even if the weather is less than perfect, because without it, there will not be a Barrowford Show next year.
“It has been really difficult to attract sponsorship when everyone is having to tighten the purse strings, but we have been extremely fortunate to have the continued support of H Rigg and ACDC Lighting.
“We are also very pleased that both Booths and Farmhouse Biscuits have been very generous to us.
“But unfortunately, if the show is not well attended, it will be even harder to attract sponsorship next year and the whole event would be in doubt.”
Tickets cost £5 for adults and £3.50 for concessions. Further details are on the website www.barrowfordshow.co.uk
