A MAN was stabbed in a 30-man gang fight which erupted in a Burnley street.
The man, aged 26, was reportedly knifed during the brawl in Reservoir Street at 8-30 p.m. on Saturday
He suffered a single puncture wound to his back and had to be taken to hospital for treatment before being discharged.
Two men aged 19 and 20 have been arrested in connection with the disturbances but detectives are still investigating.
One resident in the tight-knit community said trouble had been brewing all day with gangs of youths roaming the streets drinking.
Reports say a pregnant 23-year-old mother-of-two was attacked outside a cornershop in Reservoir Street earlier on Saturday.
That evening, an eye witness described how violence erupted outside her property. “It was a nightmare. I was really scared. I saw people punching and kicking each other. There was about 25 or 30 of them. Then I saw one man fall to the ground,” she said.
“They are not from round here. They come up to this area causing trouble. It is not right.”
A Burnley CID spokesman confirmed officers were called to deal with a disturbance involving a “large” number of people on Saturday night.
