A speed survey is to be carried out on Townhouse Road, Nelson, Lancashire County Council has announced.
The move comes after complaints from local residents were raised by Pendle councillor for Marsden ward Coun. Tommy Cooney.
He said: “Andrew Stephenson and I recently ran a residents’ survey across Marsden to find out local issues affecting people there.
“We were astonished by the number of residents complaining about speeding on this particular stretch of road.
“We read reports of some very dangerous driving.
“The county council has listened to our complaints and now they will be conducting a speed survey to find out more information.
“A recent speed survey in Brierfield showed some cars travelling at almost 100mph in a 30mph zone and residents have been frustrated by the slow reaction of the county council to do anything about the problem.
“So I hope we will have more luck in sorting this problem out here in Nelson.”
