councillors will be asked to make changes to car parking arrangements in Nelson town centre on Monday night.

Following the demolition of the Palace bingo hall, a 30-bay car park has been developed on the site and members of Pendle Council’s Nelson Committee are recommended to make it a short-stay, disc controlled car park.

At the same time, they are recommended to change the New Brown Street car park - currently used for short-stay parking - to a park for businesses based in the enterprise unit of the ACE Centre, with annual permits of £240.

The arrangements, if agreed, will be reviewed in August.
