Pendle Council can’t supply any more free dog poo bags after Friday, April 1st.
Coun. David Clegg, who leads on Environmental Services, said: “Faced with big cuts to our budgets, this is one of the savings councillors have had to make decisions on as it will save the council around £10,000 a year.
“Most councils in the country do not provide free dog poo bags.
“We still have a limited number of dog poo bags that are available from Contact Pendle Centre at Number One Market Street in Nelson, Colne Town Hall and Barnoldswick Council Shop whilst stocks last, up to 31st March.
“From April 1st they are easy to get from your local pet shop or from the pet section of your supermarket.
“Please look for the biodegradable bags as they’re better for the environment.
