As the team at Lomeshaye Village Day Nursery in Nelson were having a ball, Pendleside Hospice was benefiting from the proceeds.

And staff at the nursery in Turner Road in Nelson have handed over a cheque for £6,009 to the hospice after its summer ball, taking the total the nursery has raised for the hospice since 2010 to over £16,000.

The nursery has also sponsored Pendleside’s Little Hospice Heroes event for the last three years.

Sammi Bracewell, fund-raiser at Pendleside Hospice, said: “Thank you very much to nursery owner Louise and her team at Lomeshaye Village Day Nursery who over the last six years have raised a phenomenal amount for Pendleside. Louise and her team go above and beyond.”
