A former landlord of the Admiral Lord Rodney in Colne is at the helm of a new town pub more than 20 years on.

Oliver Brooks has opened up The Tapster’s Promise micropub in New Market Street selling good quality beers from home and abroad. The pub is now one of three in the street.

The pub, with a distinctive interior, is open from the afternoon into mid evening and Oliver hopes to put on art sessions, offer whisky tasting sessions and develop off sales too.

Oliver said: “I think we make a very complementary triumvirate. I’m selling artisan and craft beers but also good quality continental beers from Belgium, Italy and Spain where brewing boundaries are really being pushed at the moment.”
