LETTER: Acts of folly by Lancashire County Council

I WRITE about what I see as two acts of folly by Lancashire County Council.

Firstly, I think it is a nonsense to have axed the information display on the illuminated signs at the Bus Station. The saving over the county as a whole in comparison to their overall budget is derisory and not worth it. The signs were easy to use and much easier than trying to look up things on the printed timetables.

Some months ago the county council put up a number of noticeboards. Among them, one is near the St Peter’s Centre and another is outside Queen’s Park. These boards cost nearly a £1,000 each, but they have yet to show any information or notices.

Wake up Lancashire County Council and get your act together!
