Over 100 people from The Good Shepherd Parish marked the beginning of Holy Week with a Passion Walk in Alkincoats Park in Colne.

Held on Sunday, the Passion Walk recreated the death of Lord Jesus Christ and marks the most important of all feasts in the Christian Calendar.

The walk began at the entrance to the park and ended in the walled garden where people could have a time of quiet prayer and reflection.

There were stops along the way to recreate Jesus’s walk to Calvary with readings from the Bible, pupils from Stage Door Theatre Group reenacted scenes from Jesus’s passion and people reflected on the meanings of the readings to us in today’s world.

The Good Shepherd Parish has three church: Sacred Heart RC Church, Colne; Holy Saviours RC Church, Nelson; St Peter and St Paul RC Church, Barrowford.
