Anyone who took part in, or turned out to support the first Pennine 10k charity run last year will have fond memories of a great showcase for this area.
Runners from near and far, and of all abilities, converged on a sun-kissed town to raise more than £100,000 for a variety of worthy causes.
The grit and determination on the faces of the 1,350 or so who completed the course belied the many personal reasons for taking part in the run.
As well as raising badly-needed funds the event was a great advert for our area with its green parks and rolling hills backdrop.
I’m sure this year’s event will be even bigger and better.
